Korean Kids Sizing Guide

Korean kidswear is sized by your child's height in centimetres, not by age. A label reading "110 cm" means the garment is made for a child about 110 cm tall. Because every brand cuts its clothes a little differently, there's no single chart that works for everything we carry, so each product page lists that item's own sizes. Here's how to read them and choose the right one.

What do the numbers on Korean kids' labels mean?

Korea's children's clothing sizing standard labels tops by height and chest and bottoms by height and waist, with age given only as a reference. In practice, most Korean kids' brands lead with the height: a size marked 100, 100 cm or "100호" (100-ho) is made for a child around 100 cm tall, and each step up is usually 10 cm.

The body measurements behind a size still vary from brand to brand, often by a few centimetres, which is why we always show the height for each item rather than a store-wide chart.

How do I read the sizes on your product pages?

Each size option shows a height in centimetres, either a single height or a height range:

  • Our own Mini Kelly pieces use letters with heights, for example XS — 80 cm, S — 90 cm, M — 100 cm, L — 110 cm, XL — 120 cm. Some styles show a range instead, such as M — 100–108 cm, which means the piece fits children from 100 to 108 cm tall.
  • JS means Junior Small, the size after XL, for children around 130 cm tall.
  • JM means Junior Medium, the size after JS, for children around 140 cm tall.
  • Korean brand items such as Mardi Mercredi Kids and Marithé François Girbaud Kids show the brand's own labels, for example S 100 cm or simply 110 cm.

Letter sizes are not standard between brands, or even between every style: an M can be 100 cm on one piece and 110 cm on another. Always go by the centimetre figure, never the letter.

How do I measure my child's height?

  1. Stand your child barefoot against a wall, with heels, back and head touching it.
  2. Place a flat book on top of their head, level with the floor, and mark the wall where it meets.
  3. Measure from the floor to the mark in centimetres (1 inch = 2.54 cm).

For fitted tops and dresses, also measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape level and snug but not tight. Re-measure every few months: a size that fit in spring may be tight by fall.

Which size should I choose?

Pick the size closest to your child's current height. If your child is between two sizes, choose the larger one. Korean kidswear generally follows Asian sizing and often fits slightly smaller than North American brands, so sizing up gives room to grow.

  • Sweatshirts and oversized tees are cut with a relaxed fit, so your child's usual height size normally works.
  • Fitted blouses, dresses and leggings sit closer to the body. If your child is between sizes or has a broader chest, go up one.
  • Two-piece sets come in one size for both pieces.

Roughly what age is each height?

Children grow at different rates, so use this only as a starting point and always check your child's actual height.

Child height Typical age
70–80 cm 6–15 months
80–90 cm 1–2 years
90–100 cm 2–3½ years
100–110 cm 3½–5 years
110–120 cm 5–7 years
120–130 cm 6–8 years
130–140 cm 8–10 years
140–150 cm 10–12 years

Can I exchange if the size is wrong?

Our own Mini Kelly pieces can be exchanged within 7 days of delivery under our return & exchange policy. Korean brand products are final sale, so it's worth double-checking the size before ordering those.
